I have a HE army ready to be painted and I want to have red robes and gold armor. I want them to be fairly bright and royal looking. I was thinking of dry brushing the gold from tin bitz through to burnished/shining(I always forget the lightest one) and then go with scab red for the robes, washed with baal red and highlighted with mechrite or blood red. I've not done Elf skin before but I was thinking, tallarn flesh, ogryn wash and then highlight with tallarn and then elf flesh.
I'm going for good table top standard, I don't want to spend too long painting each unit.
Any advice or feedback here?
To be honest what you have sounds good. For the robes though I would highlight blood red and then a little of blazing orange before your Baal red wash.
I usually go, base, wash, highlight but your suggestion seems a good idea. Washing last will tidy the highlights meaning I can paint with slightly less accuracy I'll try this and report back, I'll get some pics too
Look forward to seeing it
