Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok so I've gotten to the ending parts on my Silver Helms (well the musican and champ) and I've come to a problem. The head dresses.
The champion has that huge pair of wings on his helm and I don't know what to do with them, I want them to look like feathers but don't know how to go about it. So anyone got any simple but effective ways of doing them? By simple I mean no blending, I consider myself quite good but blending's beyond me at the moment.
Also the single plume on one of the knights helms, I was thinking of making that feather like but with red at the top (to tie in with my colour scheme). I was thinking bleached bone for the feather and blood red for the top.
Here's the models as they look. I applogize for the crappy pics but I suck at taking them, I did attempt to clear it up in photoshop but I've never used it thus am ***** at it.
yeah man, Dry brushing.
Feathers like these are easy, paint the base coat darker than the colour you want, then drybrush with a lighter shade. if you want multiple colours with ditinct breaks then paint the base coats one at a time, drybrush white first till the highlights are picked out, then drybrush with the lichter shade of the colour very carefully, if you want them blurd then paint the base coats one oafter the other workign from one end to the other and make sure the last one is still wet when you paint the next one, then drybrush with white and then the highlight colour
Everything you have been told is a lie!
