This is my new Tyranid Mawloc I call Mawpede because I added lots of Hormagaunt legs to make it all like a centipede. I've also add Daemonette claws in place of the claws on it's chest. This is to give it a more nippy look in line with my scorpion-themed Hive fleet. Mawpede is right now in my good books because he ate a load of Ultramarines in a recent game.Questions, criticism, comments welcome.
This is the base. I had to build it up alot with milliput so that the legs would fit. I originally was going to include the regurgitated bodies of partially digested enemy soldiers but there wasn't space because of the legs. Ah well, there will be other bugs that can regurgitate victims in the future. Painting inside the curve of the tail was very hard and I had to assume all sorts of odd positions to do it.
The shadow of the Mawpede.
definately one of the coolest tyranid models i've seen in a long while, one thing though why did you pick the football icon for this thread?
I definately wouldn't want to tackle Mawpede, he'd go for the touchdown and then the audience XD
Come see my Necrons, Space Marines, Dwarfs, Orks, Goblins and anything else I feel like painting at my blog: http://modelminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/
I picked the football icon, I think it's rugby where I live because it looks nice. Also the Mawloc acted like a rugby player in that game I played. I smashed into the Marines from below like rugby players smash into each other. Also it took little notice when the rest of the Marines assaulted it, pausing only to squash a few.
Dam it Leech- putting the rest of us Nids in shame.
AN AMAZING PIECE!!!!!!
How long did it take to finish? Converting and painting?
