I decided a little while back that I was bored playing space marines, and about 2 hours into playing Dead Space 2 I realised that the Tyranid book would be a good representation of the Necromorph monsters featured in the game.
So I picked up a copy of the Codex, some green stuff and some second hand Nids and I set to work.
Firstly I needed a HQ, and a tervigon seemed a good starting point. To represent it I settled on the "guardian" Necromorph, which looks like this:
After a months work on and off this is what I came up with...
More to come once I have time to take more photos.
Comments and critique welcome.
A little later than planned, but here are photos of my Carnifex, based on the "Brute" Necromorph. The model is a mix of all the best bits of the evolution of the brute design, but mainly from the final concept art which can be seen here:
So here he is, bare in mind that he isn't quite finished yet and some areas haven't been green stuffed yet.
This is AMAZING stuff! Just incredible work. I love Dead Space so it's so cool to see this. Seems like you picked up more than "some" green stuff. Have you modeled stuff from scratch before? It's really good.
Subscribed. Amazing stuff!
Excellent work! I'm a huge fan of Dead Space so I am excited to see how the rest turn out!
This is some amazing greenstuff work - I like the idea behind the theme, too. From what little I know of the game this could turn out to be one very creepy looking army!
Any plans to put some paint on these guys, or is it all just a heap of greenstuffing for the time being?
Well I have three Raveners to finish, then I need to do the bases before I start painting them all.
I haven't played Dead Space myself, but I have seen a good bit of the game play.
Have to say, can't wait to see more. Awesome greenstuff work, I dont think I would ever have the patience to do that.
Hope you finish it up, would hate to see such a cool project sit.
That is quite an awesome brute.
The leaper will be an interesting model when you complete it too, along with a tiny Isaac Clarke.
Shame you started with the second game though.
"And they shall know fear." - a particularly evil Daemon Prince
The most innovative use of genestealer bodies EVER. No contest.
Space Marines- The ultimate representation of 'Bros before Hoes'
