Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well it is certainly a unique take on Khador; the black and the flames. It looks pretty solid although I don't know if the sculpt doesn't lend itself to very well such a black colour scheme. And dang I dislike the two identical horses. Such a shame when considering the size (and cost!) of the model.
What exactly is it for? Forgive me if 'Khador' doesn't ring any bells and asking on the forums is more fun than asking Google. Is it Flames of War or Warmachine or something?
Anyway, unfortunately I recently gave you rep so I can't again. However, awesome work
Well, it's the thought that counts, really.
Khador is a faction in Warmachine/Hordes- a miniatures game by Privateer Press. They're kind of a Russian imperialist power.
This mini is significant in part because he represents the first move from Privateer Press to create larger sized miniatures (they created a larger "battle engine" like this for each faction in the last set of releases). The larger pieces of this mini were cast in resin, while the smaller bits were made from their standard pewter.
Camel- I agree that the repeated horse sculpt is something of a let down. I haven't thought of a quick and easy way to alter it, though.
Are the horses in metal or resin? Neither is the most conversion friendly material...
The horses are actually metal. Overall, I was surprised at how much metal was in this kit- there were only two pieces made from resin- the hull and another bit that it sits on comprising the axles and yoke. Other than that, the guns, horses, passenger, wheels and top hatch are all made from metal.
You know, resin is a pretty easy conversion medium. Easy to get straight cuts, and it glues together fairly easily.
That much metal? This model most weigh a whole lot!
