Welcome to the forum mcsneed17!
Now on to your post:
Well, what are you working with? You could always sort through your bits bin and try to find something to kitbash. I know that a simple parts-swap may not be what you're looking back, but something a bit more intensive would be a chop-swap of a new hand or specific weapon without losing the original pose.
You could also repose them, cutting at the joints and filling the gaps with GS.
You can do a lot of fine-detail work with greenstuff, or you can do massive amounts of work with greenstuff, like sculpting entirely new bits.
Asking the forum what to do with a gladegaurd is asking for all sorts of crazy ideas- especially since they're plastic. Try coming up with a vision for the model and then asking us how you can reach that goal.
