Yellow Marines...but with a spray gun?

I'm toying with painting my space marines yellow, but as most painters do, I fear the challenge. I also want to knock out most of it with a spray gun. How would people suggest I do this? I'm looking for a very bold yellow. Just like an Imperial Fist.

Would priming black>spraying vomit brown>spraying golden yellow, work? Or would substituting the vomit brown for one of the foundation paints be easier?

I also looked into Army Painter's Demonic Yellow spray, but I think it's just to bright and I hear that it's hard to paint onto with other paints. So that seems to be out.

do what I do, grab a nice can of Krylon Spray at your local craft store, they have about any color you need and primer is pre mixed in, has never ruined detail for me and makes a wonderful coat and cuts the work in half

That really works? Ha, I'd figure I would see many more people posting about that if it's true.

Very surprised GW hasn't come out with their own response to the Army Painter sprays....I feel like they'd make a killin'. :/

They kind of did that a few years back with various different citadel colour shades. It was a while ago now. I had scorpion green (from the old range) and I know they did ultramarine blue and I think a "go fasta red". They weren't that popular though.

TRY "Plasti-kote, Welcome to the home of spray paint" paints - they work well as base coats, scratch resistant too.

(and they even do some of these - http://www.plasti-kote.co.uk/Product.../pccode---3620 - the Glow-in-the-dark ones are pretty cool for nighttime necrons too....).

Ha, yeah Jimmy I mentioned that earlier. Not a fan of their yellow and people say it's difficult to paint onto.

I thought army painter yellow was a bit gory but a guy at our club has an Imperial Fists marine army done with 2 spray coats of army painter daemonic yellow followed up by a gryphon sepia wash and a little edge hilighting with citadel sunburst and they look great. The sepia wash does tone down the glarish yellow colour, more so in the recesses but also overall giving a nice warm finish.
