i would be grateful for any constructive criticisms or helpful advice anyone with a little more expierience such as my self could give on the following idea for a red corsairs colour scheme:
paint individual squads with the heraldry of different chapters (ideally ones that rebelled along with the astral claws in the badasb war such as :mantis warriors; lamenters and executioners) then spray them with purity seal. following this; paint over them in a red corsairs colour scheme then scrub them with a toothbrush to make it apperar as if the armour has been carelessly and badly painted over.

Best way to do that is to paint them as normal inc highlights (the armour plates anyway) then thin varnish then hair spray them. Then Airbrush on the new colour, highlight, then with a tooth pick scratch the surface till you get the look your after then varnish again or it will all peel off.
what do you mean by inc highlights? (thanks, by the way!)
I dont know any fluff so excuse chapters but say for talking sake you wanted a ultramarine that ran off and joined chaos as part of the red corsairs. You'd fully paint the blue and do the highlights. Highlights being a lighter shade of blue just on the edges of the armour for example. Then do the other steps.
Btw you'll have to keep your paint thin for this.
thanks for clearing that up
