Ive been trying to find a cooler Scheme for the above arm. So far I found this picture and would like to try and replicate it on my miniatures but I don't know where to start any advice. Also if you have any other color scheme or thread to help me paint these guys . It would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hm. Firstly, I don't think you'll really be able to replicate it exactly (too many fiddly details!), but I think you can come fairly close...
Armour/cloth - Black, with Gold edging. So start with a base of black, then just highlight the edges with Gold of some description.
Skin - Grey, Shadow Grey, maybe? Perhaps a mix of White and Shadow Grey for the highlights, although I'm not sure how well they'll mix.
Cape (Inside) - I reckon a Scab Red/Liche Purple (if GW still sell Liche Purple?) mix could work here. Go heavier on the purple to make it darker, or heavier on the red for a lighter shade
Cape (Outside) - I'm not sure here. It could be a dark blue or a dark green. I guess you'd just have to pick one and try it, whichever one you like best!
I reckon having a look at some of the Dark Eldar painting guides might help. Not for the colours, really, but for the way they achieve their edge highlighting, as it looks somewhat similar to what's in the picture above. That makes sense, right? Or does it only make sense to me...?
Anyway, I hope this is of some use, and that someone else comes along and explains things better than I have.
