Hey guys, I'm still chugging away at blowing all of my cash on about 20 GK models, but I have to ask, does anyone here have any experience with the Scibor torsos- namely, the SF Templar Knights bodies?
I'm told that they stand 36mm at the eyeline, which leads me to believe that they'd make some damn good Terminators for my Exorcists chapter. About how high do traditional Termies stand?
Also, if anyone does have experience with these guys, I have a few questions. Will they accept GK Termi arms or do I have to use the Scibor bits? It looks like they have flat planes at the shoulder, which leads to me to believe they'll take GW bits on the arms, but if the torso isn't wide enough for Termi arms I'd like to know (so I can take my termies back). Also, how tough would it be to say... chop them all in half? Two reasons - first, they seem a bit short and stocky, and I want to get a spacer into their waist to give them some vertical height, second, I'm contemplating chopping off the back half of their torso since it's devoid of detail (comparatively) and stick the backside of an SM Termi on there, to give them the tall cowl to reinforce that they are Terminators.
Finally - can anyone tell me how many pairs of arms I get from 1 box of GK terminators? It looks like there are 7 left arms, 7 right arms, 1 special weapon left arm, and 1 Apothecary left arm. So altogether I should be able to put together 7 terminators (including the special weapon). That's good because I'd only need to buy enough arms for 3 more SpecWep termies, rather than buying a whole second box. Am I right?
Thanks in advance guys.
Scibor mass produces most of their bits for their models out of a mold, which bothers some people. Doesn't make a difference to me, so long as the quality is good (and I believe it is). That's the extent to which I'm familiar with Scibor, that and seeing their amazing paint jobs on Ebay.
As for chopping the models in half, I wouldn't go that route unless you're very confident in your skills with green stuff.

Spambot kill tally. . .337
I do not have experience with exactly those models, but I have Scibor's Chaos SF Warrior #1. He's 2 full heads higher than normal terminators, and his arms can be compared to terminator's as terminator's to normal marines. May be those Templars will match GW parts better, if they are much smaller than Chaos Warrior. I suppose you can email him, those guys are mostly nice to their fans.
As for GK arms, there are 7 left, 7 right, plus 2 utility left hands (apothecary and some secret GK cannon I know nothing about).
The terminator pack does (afaik) have 7 sets of arms, but only 6 sets of pads and 5 stormbolters. The wrists on the arms are matched to individual hands but shouldn't be difficult to adjust.
I want their make love not war mini. It's the one with the dwarf and goblin.
Cool - sounds great honestly. I guess I shoot them an email, but it sounds to me like it might work. One question for you though A.T. -are the bare heads the right size for Marines, or are they upscaled. I ask because it sounds (based on the Chaos model) like Scibor is scaling these guys to match with "truescale" marines, rather than GW marines, so they'd have larger heads than a traditional Terminator.
Good to hear that I get 7 sets of arms. I'm not too worried about weapon combos, since I'm running a pretty mixed squad anyways. Don't need all 10 shoulderpads either, since I'm getting 1 molded shoulderpad for each marine through Chapter House. So now I know that I get enough gear in the kit that all I really need to buy is 1 box of Termies and 3 more Psycannon sets and a few additional Daemon Hammers. Cool.
Thanks millions guys. I promise, once I have the basic collection laid out in front of me and prepped, I'll start posting up pictures and the likes.
The shoulder level of the scribor models is the same as that of a grey knight terminator standing in a fairly upright pose, but the model itself is about a head higher overall (the head isn't sunken into the armour to the same degree).
The heads themselves are ~10-15% larger, at least on the one I have - those hooded heads might not be quite so large.
Sweet. That's what I wanted (kinda) to hear. The fact that the heads are a little too large is alright, I have ways that I can fix that if it really bugs me (pulls out hobby-knife-turned-guillotine).
Have some rep.
These guys, rocking red armor, with gold and black filigree on the legs, and the skeleton-themed shoulderpads from their line, are going to look like sex. I'm pretty excited, not going to lie to any of you.
