Looking for ideas on his paint scheme, I came across these images:

Image 1

I'm really interested if anyone thinks they know how this model's armor was painted. My model is on order and I'm waiting to get it, but I'd like to have the paints on hand when it arrives

Image 2

Man his face looks great, anyone know how to get results like that? I'm guessing it was flesh wash but I can't tell for sure. If you think you know how to do that I'd really be happy to hear it

Thanks for looking.

It depends.
If you are going for a more battle worn paint scheme, then I would choose image #1.
If you are going for a more just came out of the factory scheme though, I would choose image #2. But that is just me. No matter what armour scheme you choose though, I would go with image #2 flesh scheme.

I like number one a ton better, i guess i may be biased cus thats how i paint my skin tones but i think it looks more natural that way.
Which i know sounds kin of contradictry(sp) but despite the 2nd pic having a more realistic skin colour on a model i tend to find that looks more fake. Where as pic one with the overemphasized shading adds so much more character to the model.

So i vote number one.

So do any of you have an idea of what colors were used in the first image?

The armour in 1 looks like its painted with non metallics and some chestnut/flesh washes for shading.
The face is done, I think, from bestial brown (or similar brown) blending/latering your way up to dwarf and elf after that.

I'd prefer the face of one and the armour of pic no 2.
