Im going to start a Iyanden, or at least an army with plenty of wraithguard and wraithlords.
Anyways I looked at the models and it appears that their predominant feature is their gigantic "head"(?). Anyways I was thinking about leaving the majority of the model white, and then painting the helm in some unique way.
Perhaps have a checker board design on it.
Perhaps an alternate color pattern (like harlequins, or howling griffons (space marine codex))
Perhaps a mottled color scheme. I think mottled fire colors would look awesome!
That is what im leaning towards right now.
Also once that is done, I plan on "dipping" my models.
Any advice on the model's helms or the dipping?
I'm a big fan of the fading, especially on the wraithlord heads and cloaks. Going from a deep color to very light just looks good to me, especially on those slick eldar models. With Iyanden you could have the yellow body, as in the codex pictures, and fade the helms/heads dark blue to light blue. Or, if you wanted to go white body, pick either yellow or blue to do this with. Just mah two cents. Good luck with the models.
It's all up to the zombies now, really.
Hi, ok I would stay away from things like chequer board, it is very difficult to keep the chequers regular on even one, particularly as it is a curved surface, never mind keeping it uniform accross the entire army.
If you want to look mottled, base coat it white, then paint the mottled bits a darker colour (either black or the final colour you want) then wash repeatedly with inks
Everything you have been told is a lie!
I'd keep them yellow, I think it's the most striking thing about Iyanden. If I ever made an Eldar army (heresy!), that would be it.
I've never painted anything mottled, so you're on your own :)
hmmmm, starting iyanden are you bftrick? an odd rivalry indeed....
Im goign to start Iyanden but not their colo scheme, I was planning on an all white color scheme and then make their helmets somethign special. Once thats done Ill dip the whole model and hope it looks good!
yeah stay away from the checker board...we eldar are too good to have a design used by orks...yeah i think fading looks awesome on wraithguard/wraithlord, i did it on my wraithlord.
When I kick KHORNE'S butt I stick the remains on a KOB and eat them...
Oh man my signature sucks...
