Behold, my first attempts at painting an army! I'm pleased with how they came out for the most part as I put quite a bit of work into them. On the other hand, I know they won't win any beauty contests since the idea was to get something painted in a reasonable amount of time so I could play!
Hope you like the pictures.
they look damn good for the time you've been painting, the rhino and chaplin are my favs.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Thank you very much! I know they are a bit plain and there's no conversion work or anything, but I'm rather fond of simplicity. I know I'll improve and then perhaps I'll take my time with the painting, but my primary focus is to learn how to play.
Sadly, my opponent today was just a little less ignorant than I am (this was my first game) and the battle mostly managed to confuse me though I came away learning a few things.
Thanks again for the kind words!
Very nice!!!!!!!! 8.8/10 (10 been golden deamon winner)
The decals could use some work, you can see minor wrinkles but I wouldnt worry about them.
Well done on the paint job. On Valhallans scale I would rate you about 6.5/10 which translates into good tabletop quality but still pretty far from the Golden demon. Don't be discouarged though I can be a very harsh critic. Keep up the good work, always try to improve and you will be GD material in no time!
they look great and if you want to learn the game play with 5 a side

Haha, no discouragement at all here. Thanks man. I'm truly not going for GD standards though. My goal was just to get HQ + 2 Troops out of the way while still looking better than 90% of the stuff in my local shop. Mission accomplished! After my first game yesterday, I'm feeling the itch like never before to play again!
The decals... oh the decals... I remember doing my first batch... it was a nightmare. I still need to go back and touch up my dreadnought's decals so you don't see so much of that godawful trim. My troops could use some touching up too in that area. The shoulderpad tranfers make me shudder! At least in the Macragge box set the transfers are smaller, now if they'd just make them that size for their regular sheets....
WOW! i wouldn't even now these were your first minis.
When I kick KHORNE'S butt I stick the remains on a KOB and eat them...
Oh man my signature sucks...
Very, very impressive. I LOVE the contrast with the blue and gold, the almost turquoise blue makes for a very crisp scheme.
We might have a new Boltman (Canadian slayer sword winner who managed it after less than a year painting) here...
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you are saying
i almost freaked when i saw the dreanoughts paint job mostly because it was your first time, thats good painting for your first time, good job
