i manually primed my figured with chaos black and i wanted to know if i can prime white right over that (but i am horrible at layering) or strip them first (id prefer not to). i play tyranid, and i wanted an opintion before i tried. i want to do this becuase im thinking of dipping them
i would recommend strippping them first because if you prime them white over black the white wont really work too well, so you'll have to do layers, and you said you were bad at layering so you might not preserve the detail to well, so i say strip em', then prime them.
BUt it depends what colours your painting your models, but since your dipping them, then i dont know, because it sort of takes place of the black primer because the black primer will give you better shadowing right away instead of painting black after where you want your shadows to be, but dipping does that easily.
All in all you CAN prime white over black but it probably wont turn out so good
i once tried to spray white over a black primed model........it turned the model purple
Peter-"You gonna eat that stapler?"
Office worker-"Uhh sir you cant eat-"
Peter-"Wanna split it?...."
.......wow........thats just messed.....i thnk that actually happened to me once too....hmmi once tried to spray white over a black primed model........it turned the model purple wacko.gif
Macragge, unless you want your models purple like what happened to poor sigismund and me, strip em first...
thanks alot ill do that,
but im having a hard time getting into all the nooks and crany like under the body
toothbruch is whati use ne other advise
i use a safety pin, but im really carefull that i dont scrape the plastic, you could try that but if its in a place where it wont affect the overall look of the mini, then just get as much off as you can then leave it. But anything like apin or sumthing will do, maybe a toothpick? OH! there are these plastic toothpick things that you stick in sandwich's, those might do
