Well I am painting up some Crimson fists for a 1000pt holiday project and would like to know how to paint deep blue. The way I am doing it is to undercoat black, basecoat regal blue and then wash with black ink, highlight regal blue then enchanted and the Hawk turcousie. The highlights however are very feint, and barely visible despite the effort I put in. Does anyone have any suggestions as to psinting the blue or the colours to use for highlighting?

OK, my nightlords are done as follows:

    1. base coat black
    2. overpaint with midnight blue
    3. drybrush/blend with ultramarine blue and up to ice blue for highlights
    4. Thin blue ink wash

For crismson fists I would be tempeted to do a purple ink wask rather than blue
Everything you have been told is a lie!

Hawk Turquoise on dark blue? I would use Ice Blue.

    To paint Crimson Fists i would;

    1- Black Primer
    2- Paint armor Midnight Blue
3- Highlight Regal Blue (not a huge highlight though, dont cover too much area)
4- Paint the edges of the armor Ultramarine Blue
5- Paint the edges of the Ultramarine Blue, Ice Blue
6- Paint the Fists Scab red, then highlight Red Gore
    Armies:
    [40k] - Dark Eldar

Nah ice blue looks very bad over dark blue in my Experience. I'm going to have to pick up some midnight blue paint by the sound of things. Got my command squad today,I'm gettin 1 box of marines tommorow.

Ice blue works as a highlight if you subsequently apply a blue ink wash which tones it down

Well I'd start with an upright block of plastic, spraypaint it black, then put some little details like lights and a blue IBM logo on the side of it.

Wait...you meant the color Deep blue, silly me ^_^
Karnov let all of us fulfil our repressed dreams of being a fat Russian man running around in the great outdoors and getting shot at by weird stone heads and crap. You didn't have a repressed fantasy about doing such marvelous things? Well, I don't believe you . . . [djpretzel]
