Im having trouble on deciding what to paint my Grand Master as in my Grey Knight army. The model is going to be just a normal Grey Knight Termie BC, but i want to make it stand out. Im thinking of giving it a banner, but i wont the paint scheme to be different. I was thinking of either painting each plate of armor Red, highliting down to an orange, or paint his armor like a power weapon, a bunch of blue shades with some lightning coming up it.
If you guys have any more ideas on how i should paint my grand master please tell me, or any things that can make it stand out alot better.
You could give him extra gold in his color scheme. Not the entire thing but maybe the helmet and shoulderpads perhaps? I was thinking of doing something like that myself.

Paint the armour plates deep red, like you sad but stop at blood red instead of going into orange. Then paint the helmet gold. The shoulder paldrouns (Sheild like things) should be black with extravagant heraldry. Should give him a gothic regality look.
Give him lots of Purity Seals.

what about that helmet scheme that the SM's use, with the markings of ranks, for example a yellow helmet may mean sergeant (thats probably wrong but hey). If so what colour is the helmet of a GM?
Ah like the blood angels, In any case I don't think the Grey Knights GM's use a helmet ranking system.what about that helmet scheme that the SM's use, with the markings of ranks, for example a yellow helmet may mean sergeant (thats probably wrong but hey). If so what colour is the helmet of a GM?
I like using the stern model personally for my GM, but if I was going to use a regular GK model I'd probably try a conversion of some sort. Look at the WD #300 with the emperor's custodians. Some of that stuff would probably make a great GK GM.
Karnov let all of us fulfil our repressed dreams of being a fat Russian man running around in the great outdoors and getting shot at by weird stone heads and crap. You didn't have a repressed fantasy about doing such marvelous things? Well, I don't believe you . . . [djpretzel]
At first i was going to use a SM terminator captain, but to buy that and my Gk termie retinue it would be expensive, i caculated to about 100 bucks!!! So i would just buy the GK termie boxed set and it would give me my retinue and the BC would be my GM.
I was thinking of making a cool base for him, but i still havent really decided on that yet. I think in the end im going to paint my GM just like all my other GK's (NMM drybrushing)
but use red instead. and maybe if i learn, NMM gold to.
