I found the link to the warmachine minis at the LO frontpage,
and I just had to check them out.
I found a couple of minis there that might be of good use in 40k.
This one would make a great Nurgle Daemonprince:
This one could be used as an Iron Warriors Daemonprince with Kaigun and Dreadaxe, or as a chaos dreadnought, pre-heresy style:
What do you think?
And have a look yourself, maybe you'll find some other models than can be used as something.
Ave Dominus Nox!
The Iron Lich Asphyxious as a Necron Lord.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
The nurgle one is okay, i dont know about the demon prince.. In general its very very difficult to use other company's miniatures in 40k because only a GW space marine looks like a space marine. Only a GW aspect warrior looks like an aspect warrior. The only real exception is IG, since its just a bunch of random humans with guns
In fantasy it's easy because an elf is an elf is an elf, same with orcs, dwarfs, etc
I really have no found any useful 40k replacement miniatures because the GW designs are unique for 40k where as in fantasy they're just generic
Actually alot of the warmachine stuff works for 40k. There's one set of these demonettes with whips and chains that makes awesome deathcult assassins. Also the russian troops (sorry, don't know what they are in Warmachine) look like really good guardsmen. Marines are really generic looking so throwing in some warmachine models with something like Chaos could really spice them up. For just regular SMurfs, yeah, if you want more customization get a real army
Karnov let all of us fulfil our repressed dreams of being a fat Russian man running around in the great outdoors and getting shot at by weird stone heads and crap. You didn't have a repressed fantasy about doing such marvelous things? Well, I don't believe you . . . [djpretzel]
Saytixys (sp) Raiders, I was thinking more along the lines of Wyches when I first saw them but deathcult assassins could make a tasty alternitive.Actually alot of the warmachine stuff works for 40k. There have been plenty of companies (most of which don't exist any more) that have really nice alternative 40k figures.
I'm trying to remember the brand, but I have at least 20 ork boys, 20 gretchin and 3 dreadnaughts which were under the name: 'orgs' short for the organisation. I also have several weird west steam powered robots that make pretty decent killa kans.
At least 50 brands do imperial guard - some better than others.
Harlequin used to do some really nice squats.
Inquisition did pretty crappy but usable orks (including a huge walker), chaos marines and chaos terminators. They also had imperial marines but they were really bad.
Several brands, especially alternative armies have done quite usable power armoured troops. They don't necessarily look like citadel marines but they are good alternatives.
There are probably heaps I am missing.
Some of the Warmachine stuff is awesome for inquisition troops.
The Cryx thrall guys with the power fists look like creepy combat servitors
The Holy guys (dunno what they are called) have acolytes who can be used for, er, Acolytes.
I always thought that girl with the eyepatch and long rifle would be a kickass vindicator assassin, but you have to buy a whole box of guys to get her. Maybe the others could be IG snipers?
Various characters like the Mage Hunter, or the Russian chick with the hammer, or even some Cryx dudes, could be Inquisitors.

Just adding the names so people can order/search for specific ones.
Spider: Those are the Cygnarian models They are really steampunk. Apart from the trenchers there are also long gunners (snipers) and some officer looking mages.
so guys wat size are the warmachine models are they the same size as warhammer 40k?
