Well, I am currently in the process of making some Xeno Rough riders for my Imperial Guard, and am using the Dark Elf Coldone Knights as the base unit.
Having cut the D.Elf in half to get the legs, I am now planning on putting on a standard Cadian Torso to the model. I would then really like to make each rider a chainmail cloak to tie the torso in with the legs and add even more character to the unit.
So, basically, how do you go about making chainmail using greenstuff. he simplest way I could think of would be moulding the cloak onto the unit, and then when its started going solid using a fork and knife to make indentations in the G.Stuff for the links. Would that turn out alright? or does someone have a better idea?
If you get a thin spread of green stuff and press it against the chainmail you have you will get that texture (although the GS might be too sticky)
A Promise to a dead man means nothing.
go ahead and use GS, youll need to do the mold the cloack idea or u can find a few plastic cloaks. then you can just press the GS against the plastic cloaks and smooth it out. then u can just poke holes with a toothpick, pin, etc. as for GS cloak, that might be kinda hard.
attach the green stuff where you want it then using a stiff boot polish brush one that resembles a bass broom, poke the spokes into the green stuff (just make sure its wet otherwise it'll pull the greenstuff off the model) ive used this technique a few times and get some fairly decent results.
