Well anyone who plays or knows Necron understand our...limited options. That is part of being Necron, sadly, and if you don't like it go play 'nids. But the one upgrade that we all know and love, but hate on most models because of its uselessness, is Disruption field. Now this upgrade is useless on warriors and immortals, but I'm not here to debate that. I like them on scarabs and some time flayed ones. Is there any way to show this upgrade? Keep in mind it would be better if this convertion was removable. If not... no one will kill you. Most likely.
Necron will stand for eternity.Their race has survived aeons by trading their very souls for metal bodies. Now, they will live on through eternity and will vanquish all life from our universe. For they are Necron. Flesh is weak. The machine will rise!
One could suggest a blue ink wash (or green for that matter) as is usually used on power weapons but that isn't quite as removable as you'd want. Replaceable talons on the flayed ones perhaps but you might as well paint up a 2nd set of flayed ones.
this isnt a removable piece but wont detract from the model at all
to create the disruption field GENERATOR get some light rods from any decent model shop blue or red would work best now cut the rods to the required size and file them down to a crystal type shape (this is totally up to you what shape you use) then attatch this to the back of the models in question
WARMASTER of the SCHOLA PROGENIUM Alnwick Chapter (soon to be the world)
I think you're mainly limited to making cool bases and terrain. You could model flayed skin onto other untis, liek on the flayed ones. Also a warrior could be converted to a lord with some kind of cool weapon.
Reposes are relatively easy for non-HQ models. Warriors & Flayed Ones clawing their way out of dirt and rubble (repairing or deepstriking). I've even managed to have a warrior wield it's gauss flayer one-handed
i dont know if this helps at all, but i grabbed the dozer blades off my friends vindicator and cut them into individual blades. i then glued these to the sides of my destroyer lord. Once painted and given a nice blood spatter effect on the blades, it looks quite impressive and dead easy to make. Now u just need a friend with spare dozer blades lyin around....
I think that Necrons should not have any individuality. Nada. Just an endless horde of identical killer machines marching towards enemy. Basically, a Lord with Res Orb, lots of Warriors, some Scarabs and maybe a few Destroyers, with emphasis put on Warriors (50-75% of your points on them, no D-fields).
IF executed properly, this will scare the s*** out of your opponent.
Nah. I like the head-lolling, foot-dragging, zombie horde look.
Don't know if this will work at all but its something I did.
I got some "Bead Wire" at Wal-(edit). The stuff is very maliable so work it out into a rough or anglular shape. Then coil it around the modle with Distruption field.
I did this for a "Lightning" effect on other modles. Its not the greatest of conversion looks but it can easily be put on and removed. *nods lots*
