Well I came across some of these *extremely* expensive WaN paints in a hobby store. I inquired and apparntly they are supposed to be very good for mini painting. Some of the colours looks very good and I found just what the GW line of blue lacks. So can anyone tell me about these paints, has anyone had any past exeriances and are they worth the $9 a tube?
which Winsor & Newton line are they? the artist grade acrylics (Finity line) are very good quality, much cheaper than any special model paint (as they come in larger tubes), though will be *much* thicker than GW, Vallejo, etc. and will need to be watered down severly. not sure on pigment levels compared to model stuff though
they're actually much cheaper than the specialist model paints, 60 ml tube for $8 - $13, which needs to be watered down at least 2-3 to 1, so that's more like 120 - 180 ml (vs GW 12 ml or Vallejo 17ml for $3. Cheaper by a factor of 10 at least.
never used them on miniatures though, so no clue how they turn out
some of those colors (like Cobalt Blue) are toxic though, so watch out. i'm used to oil paints, where pretty much everything is toxic
They are series 1-a I think.
They're great, especially when it comes to range of colors. They have much more different natural colors, something GW isn't that good at. And they're cheaper.
The only bad thing is that my store doesn't sell'em anymore.
Ave Dominus Nox!
Yeah I'm using some finity paints and with a bit of black and some titanium burst I found a good color to make scrolls and the such.

Cool, though where I am they're twice the price of GW...
Though I will be picking 1 0r 2 up.
I would but I'm guessing that store is in the U.S. Plus the WaN paints I saw looked nothing like those pictured.
But the colours are the same...
