Well how do you guys/gals paint bone. It can be over either undercoat colours but please give at least GW equalivelent paints please.
On a black undercoat..
Start off with Snakebite Leather.
70/30 Mix of Snakebite Leather and Bleached bone
30/70 Mix of Snakebite Leather and Bleached Bone
50/50 Bleached Bone and Skull White
Thats my method of highlighting. The theory is of course, brown on bottom, white on top, bone in the middle...
Ok, first of all, on a black undercoat you'll get an earthy looking colour, like your skeleton just emerged from wet soil. For a more bleached look try:
Thinned down brown ink wash
Drybrush Bleached Bone
Drybrush Skull White very lightly.
Well my guardians arn't going to be rising from the grave anytime soon...like your skeleton just emerged from wet soil
I'm talking about the colour not the actual bones on something. Sorry if anyone got it mixed up :blush: . But keep the advice coming please!
Yuo can just paint bleached bone and drybrush it with chaos black. Thath what ive done on my nids` bones.
"I keep the bible in a pool of blood,
so that none of it`s lies can affect me."
I painted my Ulthwe eldar like the way a WD (Though the number escapes me) said, like this;
- Black undercoat
- Bestial Brown all over
- Bronzed Flesh (leaving some BB as shading)
- Flesh Wash
- Bronzed Flesh highlight
- Bleached Bone
I think this was how, it's been a long while since I painted any.
A pic of my Falcon;
Or the colour I used for my Swordmaster's could work.
I've been doing some experementation and it looks like I'll be doing this:
3-4 thin layers of Bleached Bone
Brown ink wash
Touch up with Bleached Bone.
You should add the brown ink directly on the white undercoat and then apply the bleached bone. I don't know about the bronzed flesh actually, might make it too peachy.
I paint Bleached Bone over black undercoat, then water down black ink and ink all over it.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Heres what i do:
layer of bestial brown
layer of bleached bone
another layer of bleached bone, to make it look just bit brighter, and to get rid of ocaasional black or brown spots
drybrush the rasied areas with snakebite leather, so it looks like the bone has worn away a bit
Used this methof on my ulthwe guardians, looks pretty damn cool (Y) .
