This was an idea i got when thinking about hive cities and city fight. Imagine a battle taking place on the upper outskirts of a hive city spire. instead of streets you have causeways connecting various platformss and towers and whatnot. underneath the causeways is, well, a very long drop. Maybe make specail rules that keep tanks from playing these places. anyway the idea is that with suffiecint scenery anyplace thats NOT a building of a causeway or SOMETHING is open sky (or water i suppose) and is impasible but won't block LOS. maybe let jump infantry traverse it however. use cotton or spray a skyscape or smogscape picture UNDER the primary playing board.
Lolol good idea. I could see it happening pretty easily. It sounds like an unreal tournament map or something.
What about walkers and jetbikes?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today because they *****ed me off.
I had an idea for making a completely modular terrain like that. Make a bunch of large platforms, and lift them off the table with large supports (toilet paper rolls seem like a good idea). Then paint them as normal except the supports underneath which would fade to black near the bottom. Then make a bunch of catwalks/causeways and add supports underneath like the large platforms. Then all you would need to do is put down a black mat (black paper would work) on the table, put down the large plataforms first then connect them with the catwalks and add u can add random terrain on top of those platforms (like machinery, buildings. etc)
that sounds like a wicked idea (Y)
i like the concept of being able to fall off the edge of the map
like if a blast weapon detonates near a squad they roll additional saves to avoid falling if they are within a certain distance from any edges
