So I picked up a bottle of Future Floor Finish for creating a batch of "magic dip" (which works really well, btw) and was reading the bottle because I'm a chemistry nerd and do stuff like that. There's a paragraph on the label that gives instructions for how to strip this acrylic finish from your floor...it's a combination of their brand of floor cleaner, water, and ammonia.
So what I'm thinking is, if this stuff dissolves acrylic floor finish, I can't see any reason it won't dissolve acrylic paints, either. I also can't see any reason it would harm plastic or metal models in any way. Has anyone tried this? I might spend the 7 bucks on the floor cleaner and ammonia as an experiment if no one has tried it...I think it might have potential as a relatively safe and fast stripping solvent.
