EDIT: A finished conversion farther down the page!

I'm planning an army of blood axe orks, and I want them all to have helmets like this:

They don't need to be that good(they're orks), what I'm looking for is an easy way of giving ork boyz helmets like that. I won't sculpt them entirely from greenstuff, that's too much work. All I need is some kind of half sphere in the right size to put over their heads. Or some other easy solution.. I'm thinking of cutting off the sidies on some of the ork helmets to make them more ww2.. Then I can add some steel wire as straps hanging loosely from the helmets..

I'm not going to make nazi orks. I just like the helmets. Acctually I like the American WW2 helmets too. I just want the orks to look like wannabe humans, and I think round bowl helmets would rock.

Nazi orc: Wut color are yoo? Green? You look pink or sumfink! Die pinkskin! Green Macht!

Greenstuff would do it easily. Great idea.

Yeah, but it's too much work for me. My 1500 pts army will include around eighty models..And I want at least fifty of them to have helmets like this. But modifying standard ork helmets to having a round top might be easier. I'm currently having a greenstuff kick, so maybe I'll make a test model and post it here.

the only real problem you might face is that ork heads tend to rest at the same level as their shoulders.you could try removing the spike from ork shoulder pad and GSing inthe gaps... a little big, but it might work

Try taking a look at the old Stormboyz heads, I think they'd be exactly what you were looking for. Not sure if you can get them on their own though...

You could just buy helmet packs in 1/35 scale (a little large for humans in GW scale, but perfect for Orcs). There are several packs out there. Here's a link to one: German WWII helmets

Home Town Hobbies (the site above) is a reliable vendor and if you type 'helmet' in the search page you'll find a number of different packs.
