Welcome to Librarium Online!
I want to add a Callidus assassin to my DH army, and here is a list of the parts/materials I am planning to use. I would appreciate advice... maybe better parts, a good method of putting them together, etc.
-1 or 2 Dark Eldar Succubus Shoulder spikepad thingies
-Sword (inspired by the harlequin pic on pg 117 of the 3rd ed Rulebook) fashioned out of putty, a guitar string, and a toothpick
-A neural shredder made out of a meltagun and putty... skill sketchy on how I want to do this one
-A cape and ninja-like face-covering scarf thing
Basically I'm going to take the Jain Zar model, and remove the weapons from her hands. I'm then going to fashion a sword out of a toothpick (sword), guitar string (hose thingy) and putty (arm attachment), and affix it to the right arm. I'm then going to fashion a neural shredder based on a flamer and stuff (not sure exactly how I want it to look, ideas would be appreciated) and affix it to the left hand.
I then would attach the arms to the body, and would like to put a succubus shoulder thing on her left shoulder (maybe even both). I'm looking at the hair and the model's body from the GW picture, and it seems to me that the shoulderspikes might be trickier than they are worth. Still would be a nice touch.
The cape and ninja-face cover (covers the nose and mouth) is going to be fashioned out of putty, and affixed.
My main problem is the giant hair plume that Jain Zar possesses. I am sure that the hair could be removed, as much as I like it (I'm planning a cape so the condition of the back isn't too much of a priority), and I could either put the Callidus assassin hair on it, or something else.
Any ideas? Comments? Questions? Concerns? Donations? ()
Great that somebody is going to try more then just the stock model is all I can say.
Guess I gotta go and finish resculpting mine...
you may want to look at using the legs from one of the death cult assasins and a howling banshees upper body rather than jain jzar cause removing all that hair then sculpting the body would be very difficult then you have the problem of the positioning as the right arm is up in the air it'd be much easier by far to just cut the aforementioned models in half then stick them together then you have the basis for your assasin.
also look at the old plastic eldar flamer you used to get for the nueral shredder youll find that the fuel cell would be a good basis for her pistol
