Tact is for people who give a damn. I'm not one of those people.
Dude either say something nice about the model or don't say anything at all and don't post childish crap that you said. If you don't like the model you can give suggestions in a more of a mature manner.so f###ing childish
KaJ: Very nice model, fits the theme of your fleet very well

Slaanesh is the god of pleasure not disease. I would suggest not using open sores as that is where it starts falling into the domain of Nurgle.
Maybe a closer view of your conversion is in order. The picture makes the "phallic" protrusion to be very awkward. If you haven't done so you may want to investigate making it appear that the shaft is emerging from the vehicle itself rather than just stuck on.
I think what can be construed as childish is - what is the purpose of a Phallic extension to this vehicle. How is it used? What reason would Slaanesh mutate this ship in this fashion? Is there a better way to illustrate the nature of Slaanesh on a vehicle? (for this more research would need to be done on Slaanesh in general). If it was put on just for effect with no real thought that is what is childish.
At the very least please post better and closer pics of the conversion area rather than the whole starship.
Since when has the god of excess and pleasure been associated with anything that could even mistakingly be considered utilitarian? Please don't make me begin to show you the COUNTLESS examples of useless slaaneshi mutations that GW have applied to their models, and even marketed as the 'norm' for slaanesh. Six-breasted snakes mounted by generals in jewel-encrusted armor, adorned in lofty, extravagant helms. Yes, I can see the purpose behind that, that's quite functional indeed. I am aware that Nurgle is the god of disease, not Slaanesh. But, there are these little things called venereal diseases. You see, these are diseases which are commonly transmitted through the act of sexual intercourse, or, often enough, through generic sexual contact.
The word venereal means 'of or relating to sexual pleasure or indulgence', and it comes from the latin word venereus, which in turn comes from venus. In case you didn't know, Venus was the Roman version of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty, and in this case desire. You, see, a good deal of thought has been put in to the addition of sores around the phallic portion of my ship, which you undoubtedly took one look at and quickly cast your judgement (that goes for you as well, Decado) . My apologies, in the future I'll have to consult you on every one of my conversions and modelling choices, as you seem to be the expert on the subject, Slorak.
And, for your information, the conversion was not simply for my own amusement (although what is the purpose for any hobby-related conversion if not for one's own amusement?). It will help to signify the fact that this is a heavy cruiser captained by the only Chaos Lord on my fleet. The Daemonette talon is an echo of the extrusions which will be incorporated into my capital ship, and will serve as a sort of visual indicator of rank and favor with Slaanesh. It's preposterous that you would attempt to condescend me for adding a little individuality to my fleet.
Thank you, nevertheless, for your assumptions.

Do I sense hostility? First off I am not "offended" by the material presented here merely talking about how it can be viewed as Childish in regards to what Decado said.
I am glad that you have taken the time to look into your school books and tell me what these definitions mean. Being an undeducated college graduate I can barely read let alone understand what different terminology means!
As for my expertise with conversions and such - I do not profess I know everything but I have been in this hobby long enough (over 20 years) that I think I do add value with what I say. never-the-less to each there own. I suggest that you grow thicker skin if you found my post to be offensive and attacking. That in itself lends to the idea of childishness.
Now about your model. You have a long full shot of your miniature and the conversion is a minor portion at the bottom. Because you are showing the full ship the conversion area is very small and hard to make out details. That is why I was asking for bigger pictures. As it stands it looks like the appendage is stuck on. This could simply be that I can't make out the details enough - hence my comment on possibly making it look like the "appendage" is coming out of a cavity. As for the sores - I really don't think it is a big deal but in the GW ethos sores, wounds, disease are usually associated with Nurgle and not Slaanesh. That was all that I meant from my post. You are right that they are a result of sexual contact with "diseased" individuals and it could very well fit your model just fine.
I wish you luck on your modeling and can't wait to see it painted!
And Who says L-O is immature?
Great job B.T.W Kaj, glad to see you researched it. (Y)
You can hardly expect me to be pleased with the fact that you seemed so eager to jump on the bandwagon with someone who can't bother to say anything more than "*****ing Childish." And then you have the to audacity to imply that I am being childish? Give me a break.Originally posted by slorak@Feb 4 2005, 18:41

Also, this post wasn't to check the technicalities of my conversion work, it was merely to see what people thought on a ceonceptual level, which I suppose I should have made clear in my original post. But, hey, I'm lazy like that.
On a more positive note, I'm going to get it painted up as soon as possible, right now it's primed and ready to go, I just need to get to Games Workshop and pick up some inks (I'm experimenting with white primer and inks to give the fleet a hard, chitinous look). I'll get an update as soon as possible.
