with space marines you cant angle an arm the way you want it, say i want to make a marines with a straight arm shooting sideways. thers a really big gap between the body and the arm. if you have no idea what the hell im talking about look at the apothecary or company champion on this page. the little greenstuff to fill in the gaps.
so my question is, how do i get about doing this? appreciated help

Best way is to pin the arm in position. Before you pin shave parts of the armour down to minimise the gap. Afterwards greestuff the remaining gap with some accordion/bellows pattern like that seen behind the knee joint.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
cut away the shoulder to the desired angle then place a small ball of GS in the top of the shoulder guard then put it on the arm so that the shoulder guard fits properly but do this after you have pinned the arm to the model
