im am having soo much trouble glueing my first necron box set, im statrting to have an necron army but i havent got any mroe yet, or codex since theres no wargear i dont really need it. im getting 40 warriors and 1 deciever and 12 scarab bases, and that will be my army, maybe a hearv destroyer and necron lord, but no more, anyway the necron left arms are so hard to glue sucessfully for me i hate them, although the painting is really easy(chain mail \+ black under coat blue/red eyes and middle of breast plate and scorpian green), im hoping to make an amry for fighting in general. although being 16 with no job means that money is a problem, although where ig et hem from its 1 pound off all gameworkshop products i have been collection tyranids but if put them on hold because they are so hard to paint sometimes i really hate them, and i tryed tau, but got bored, and space marines of course.

Also i think this site is great.

Cannon fodder... i remeber those days (like 3 weeks ago). What kind of glue are you using? If you aren't using super glue i would suggest you use that. As far as the arms being hard to glue on try glueing on one arm on letting it dry and then glue on the other arm. With Necrons there is no real quick way TMK to glue on the arms at a fast rate. Hope this helps!

Make sure both surfaces of the glue joint are clean and fit together as close as possible before you glue them. I always wash all the parts before assembly. I usually lightly sand/buff the mating surfaces with a small file to make absolutely sure they are clean. Then use a very small amount of glue, especially if you are using superglue. If the glue comes out of the joint when you push the two parts together, you are probably using too much glue. The goal is to have a VERY thin film of glue between the parts, completely covering the joint area, and no more.

(Epoxies are different. Since they have structural strenth themselves, you can reinforce a joint with extra epoxy, but that's not your problem with the Necrons)

If the joints are plastic to plastic, polystyrene cement (plastic glue) is the best. If it drips out you are using WAY too much. Open the tube/bottle away from the model, either gentle squeeze out a small drop, or use a toothpick to get a small drop of glue. Then put the drop into the joint. The glue does its job by melting the plastic so it bonds together. If you get any on the model it will melt the plastic. Polystyrene glue is no good for any joint with metal.
