ive decided to start a tau auxilary conversion.ive decided to make 2 squads of auxilaries at 12 men each.2 sentinals and a devilfish.first off my main problem is the sentinals im thinkin of using parts of the devilfish and then modelling the devilfish as a salvaged transport that the tau let the humans use but wont let them use all the technology inside it so strip it of all non essential parts.I just need to know if anyone has tried anything like this and if so have they run into any problems with construction

I'm slightly confused, which list are you using?
Hmm.. I like the idea of making the sentinels look more Tau-like, but it could be tough. Tau technology is always very smooth looking, while human technology (sentinels included) is quite blocky and graceless. Maybe you could try and compromise between the two?
As for the devilfish. I'm not sure what you're intending to use it as. If it's a salvage piece, maybe score some cracks in it, have components hanging out here and there, and so forth. If you're doing what I think you're doing and using it as a Chimera in an IG list.. Take off the guns, too, and add some strapped on human weapons instead.
the other problem is this wont be a legal army, tau can have human auxileries (its now a second troop choice bar kroot) but not other warmachines,
its a good fluffy idea but outside clubs and stuff i dont think youl be allowed use it.
and if you take a leman russ witha rail gun allow me to be the first to scream CHEESE though it has given me an idea for a conversion lmao
WELL SAID, NO MORE SQUATS THEY ARE DEAD GET OVER ITOriginally Posted by artificer
im not planning on using them as an actual army for battles.I just like converting models and showing them off(i know its sad) i might make some rules and fluff for them.the main idea for the sentinals was to just have tau armour on the legs and some on the drivers cabin then i would put some tau sensers and radio equipment on it,the devilfish isnt going to have any tau weapons and most if not all of the doors are gonna be replaced with armour plate and the back is going to be left open.honestly most of the stuff im thinkin of is still in my head and not very clearly thought out. but i should have them fully built by the end of next month(i hope)

Well it's pretty hard to model with 2 completely different designs, the tau is very smooth, and the imperial is sharp edges.Originally Posted by chaos paul
