Me and my group of friends are working on a very interesting piece of terrain. So far it is beautiful.
It is a 4' by 4' board, split down the middle by a man-made sewer outlet stream. On the ends of the murky, brownish green water sit dark steel grates. On one side of the stream is a ruined city, with only a few crumbled buildings remaining. Those who still fight on through this deserted wasteland use the bunkers, ruins and barrels to hide behind. The center piece of the city is the ruined cathedrel on the edge, with large broken windows and a courtyard with a sad, religious statue sitting in melancholy forever.
On the other side of the stream is a barren desert, ravaged with ancient vehicles of battles over the centuries, half buried under the sand. This was not always a desert however, perhaps constant warfare and bombardments have sucked the life out of the land. Shifting dunes lie and whistle as the wind hits them. A few patches of grey, skeletal trees sit as reminders that there was once life in this hell hole. Three old bridges surrounded by barbed wire and long expired supply barrels serve as the only remaining entrance into the city by foot, as the murky water and fences are too dangerous for even tanks to cross.
This board has been going great, and looks beautiful. It should be done within the next week or so and I will be happy to post pictures as it should truly be eye candy to look at let alone play on. It is a perfect board for an armageddon like war, as it has a desert wasteland and a ruined gothic city on the edge. Perfect for almost any race for 40k, however it isn't very good with fantasy as the stream has 3 bridges that may be too small to move large regiments of soldiers on etc...
That sounds romanticaly exsplosive.
When you're done could you PM me some pics.
Indeed indeed, after all, a picture is worth a thousand words. It sounds great, I can't wait to see it.Originally Posted by MiketehFox
