I wanna know beacuse I might be starting grey knights, but I want to use a different color scheme (that black metal) and I want to use the model as inquisitor
thanks for the help
PS will they look good painted black???
IMO black Grey Knights don't look good. They look to chaos for me. If you do a base coat of chaos then shade up with dark greys it might look good. I don't know though.
One thing that I have noticed with getting a smooth black finish is to first layer it up in shades of grey and wash it with a watered down black or even black ink. The key is to thin the black and use several coats to build up just a hint of color transition. I like this look better as it is more natural.
The other method for black is usually to take a darker grey and hit the edges of the armor. I don't really care for this look.
i know normal black won't look that great, but I want that metallic black (like the painted emeror's champ on the GW site)
It would be helpful to include a link to the picture as the one on the US GW site looks like it is just black with sharp dark grey highlights. Doesn't look metallic at all. If you want a metallic black you could always get a metallic medium (vallejo model colors sells a metallic medium) and add black to it. Or you could mix black into your already existing metallic paint.Originally Posted by Settra the imperishable
