Having recently started playing a Snakebite-inspired army (and nearly tearing my hair out in dispair upon looking at my poor cyborks and other high-tech gizmos) I've decided to model a new Warboss to be riding about on a super cyboar. Unfortuantly, I've never really LIKED the idea of orks riding around on the backs of giant slabs of bacon (that and a 3 meter tall warboss would most likely squash a boar if he sat on it). A quick glance through the GW online store, however, got my imagination pumping.
A Krootox seems like it would be roughly the right size for a Warboss to ride about on (I unfortuantly haven't seen a krootox model up close recently, so I can't remember if the scale is right). Unfortuantly, I don't want it to look like my warboss is riding about on the back of a Kroot thingy. Currently, these are ideas that I've come up with to change the look of it.
1) Either GS over the entire head and make the face flat (like they did to the poor squigs in the creature feature) or order the Tyranid Warrior Sprue and stick one of the bone plates over the eyes and GS around the edges.
2) GS plenty of fur all over the dang thing.
3) Lop off it's tail and it's back legs and sculpt out a long tail for it, making it vaugely lke a wyvern.
To add to this mess, I have to bodge up a custom-built powerklaw for the boss AND find some way to proxy a burna onto the unit without having the boss clutching at it (I'm currently pondering sticking some glands made out of green stuff on the krootox' neck and claiming that it vomits out a gout of acid on command). However, right now I'm just concerned with finding the proper base thing to start with.
So. Is the krootox large enough to mount a warboss on? And are those planned changes I'm going to be making going to be enough to make people thing 'oh, cool looking model!' instead of 'that idiot just stuck an ork on a random kroot thingy'? Also, would it be suitably super cyboar-ily enough to justify the wargear?
Thanks in advance.

go for it!
I don't really like the boar idea either, and have modeled all of my feral orks on wolves (cyber-wolves) instead. I'm also currently working on my warboss, and I agree that a dinky boar isn't nearly large enough to be considered "Super."
A krootox is certainly big enough, the question is... is it too big (HA! no such thing! we're orks)
as for the flamer, remember its "Cyber," so adding on mechanical bitz is not only acceptible, it's reqiered.
