I cant think of any colors that gw hasnt used to paint their space marines and i want you guys to give me some good colors and which part of the sm to paint them with.
Yellow with Pink Spots and Blue stripes ^_^
Common, seriously... just paint them colours that you like and find visually pleasing. Who gives a rat if GW have already used the colours?
I always see these topics popping up. You guys just have to make up your own minds. We can't break into your brain and find out what kind of person you are. We can't make the decision for you. It is entirely up to you what colors your Space Marines will be. Just choose whatever is most visually appealling to you. Even if its common. I chose Ultramarines because I love the color scheme. Who cares if they are so common?
how bout if i painted my marines orange with black shoulder pads and a red lining?
that would be very vibrant - and if you can pull it off, then it could look quite good on the tabletop.
How to paint Space Marines has just came out... that could help.
i think a green with gold rimming would look nice. (snot green this is).
Check it out.
Its new but it will grow if people join.
Even if the colours have been used before the marines can still look unique. My guys are red and black, which are probably the two most used colours in 40k, but I have yet to see another SM army painted in the same pattern as my guys.
As stated, it's your decision not ours. But it never hurts to give an oponion I guess. I would go to your local GW store and look through the paint racks and start thinking of ideas.Maby look in the codex for ideas that you can work off of and modify.
It's mainly how skilled of a painter you are/become that makes your army stand out, not as much your color scheme from what I've seen. Tho good choice in colors is always best.
But when you think you have a good color scheme thought up ( probably one not too crazy, like pink with yellow poka-dots) try it out and see where it leads you.
Space Wolves- 4,000 pts
Dwarves in progress
I agree with everyone else- it is your decision, you need to choose colours you like and paint them in a style that you like, whether someone else has something similar or not doesn't matter becasue at the end of the day they are yours and you should be proud of them.
P.S I like gundamfan love the ultras and have just started painting my first army and have recently posted some pics and dont care that people call them common or they look like smurfs!!!!
