Those guys are simply out standing.
I love the greek theme. You should enter painting contests with that skill.
1 question. Is that all gamesworkshop products you used?
I really love what you did with those models. The conversion on that guy is outstanding. Space Marine lower legs, for example. His squad looks great as well. At first it looks like an average paint job, but I look at the pic of the whole squad and the officer looks 10 times better than in the zoomed in pic. Its a really great job. The arms of the squad look kinda awkward, paint-job wise, but otherwise, <drool>
The only real criticisms I have is that, on the command squad, the arms look like they were done pretty quick when compared to the rest of the work. The definition between muscles looks way too dark and big (exaggerated, I guess) to look real. If you could tone it down some, I think it would look much better. Additionally, the non-banner-holding arm of the banner bearer looks really odd in that picture. I don't know if it's the angle of the picture or what, but it looks like it's actually going backwards, but still holding the sword upwards...which would mean that it's upside-down in his hand.
Everything but the arms looks outstanding. Nice work. I'm not a big fan of the greek + future look, but the squad looks good regardless.
thanks for all the comments guys
i actually did enter the commander into a painting comp yesturday at a local model shop, he got 1st prize.
the commander is based on all GW parts, but all the torso armour, cloak, sword arm, helmet, crest, purity seals etc etc are skulpted onto the model.
with reguard to the arms on the command squad, its like this-
i didnt do the commander and his squad at the same time, the command squad i did about 3 months ago along with a previous vesion of my officer, that was when my painting skills were.... "improving"
the arms are done in a ver ycartoony scheme, the same as the rest of my army, im probably going to apply a wash to the entire force to tone down the arms and blend them better.
about a wee kago i looked at my heroic senoir officer (old modle) and realised that he just wasnt heoric enough, time for an upgrade i though, so i took his old weapons and made a brand new modle of him, this is where the difference in painting skill comes from.
also you are not the 1st person to notice the dislocated arm on the banner bearer, i will probably replace it at some point.
The squad looks great!!! but I would touch up the banner guy
They all look great . The arms are the only thing that are kinda funny lookin to me.

Dwarves in progress
it looks awesome. i saw the pics of the original, umpainted models. you changed the arrangement of the base a little, and i think it looks even better
yeah, i changed the base, someone pointed out that the model should be in the middle of the base, as oppose to at the back, and i also didnt like the modles pose.Originally Posted by follower64
the new base tipps him forward a bit, so he looks more blaanced, as well as being in the middle of the base as well as making him seem taller than on the smaller base.
