I did a search...but sister and battle are very often used.
Is there anything to be done to cut costs? Plastic models would be very helpful, but ofcourse there are none to be found (by me at any rate) therefore I must convert them...But from what? The standard Space marine with a female head glued on would be rather shabby, and just modeling breasts out of green stuff on the torso would be rather....sad.
The idea of using something like twist ties to make a stick figure, then working from there are too complicated to do for squad after squad....
Someone had the idea ages ago of male battle sisters, but the mods just said "that idea sucks, thread closed" before anyone could really talk about it.
I don't reckon its that bad at all. An ancient order of warrior monks, maybe from a planet where women are forbidden to fight. Back during the Age of Apostasy the Inquisition needed the world as a strategic base to put sisters on. The local culture couldn't accept the idea, so they made... brothers!
I know many people will say "that's just what marines are" but not necessarily. Inquisitors and sisters use power armour without the black carapace. What's wrong with an order of highly trained power armoured Ecclesiarchy warriors who are NOT superhumans descended from the Primarchs?
That's what the sisters are, and really there is no physical reason why they must be female (like the old marine thing of "SM have to be male coz female bodies have no room for the extra organs they need). After all, as the fluff says, the Imperium is a big place. I'm sure it's possible for at least one such order to exist.
So anyway, to practicalities: Use SM minis and paint them however you want. Simple.
Well thats all very well if you want Male 'Sisters' of Battle but no good at all if you do indeed wish to make an army based around female figures.Originally Posted by robotnik
Even using Space Marines with female heads would work out expensive, after all, you still need to get hold of those heads too.
Perhaps you sould do something with the Dark Eldar figures, round off the shoulder pads or something, I don't know, but they do have a fairly high female figure count and a lot of heads without helmets.

This makes a slim figure which, while not actually having breast-shaped chest plates, looks as if they are wearing bulky chest armour to allow room for breasts. She is scratch-building a bare head but you could always use a normal marine helmet for a head.
The only problem with this is you need a box of guardians for every box of marines and you get loads of wasted bits.
I think if you want sisters you are going to have to pay for them, unfortunately.
