I ran into a bit of a roadblock...
Painting my chaos marines. I plan on going infiltrating alpha legion, and I like the way the gold looks on them as their trimming...but I am having a hell of a time trying to find a colour that goes well with it (I like the black vs gold look, but it's too flat and not very satisfying to paint)
Was a bit irritated that Shining gold has no more quality than the 1 dollar paint I had used previously, but it still looks eye catching. Pics up when I can get the camera working, but it's mainly a colour selection
I ask simply because I'd rather not spend alot of time painting it and change my mind. I'm fickle like that.
Thanks in advance
Isn't black&gold their chapter colors though? Anywho, IMO gold would go with any rich dark color...May I suggest Dark Angels Green, Liche Purple, or my personal favorite, Midnight Blue.
I hear voices...and they don't like you!
It's a dark colour and grey banding.
Perhaps try blue/green colour paint and then go over it with an ink of the other colour, so green ain and blue ink or vice versa of cousre.
i agree with Wookie, midnight blue would be good, or DA Green
personally i prefer using burnished gold to shinig gold- i prefer the deeper colour it produces
