The pink foam is mainly used as insulation in walls and floors, so you should be able to get hold of some at hardware store or anywhere else they sell construction materials.

I'm not sure.... What kind of products do they usually have in these home hardware shops?

Maybe you could try asking a carpenter or a mason. Try visiting a construction site maybe they have some spare lying around (especially if its a concrete building)

There are two types of foam...
There's the pink type your talking about, a fairly "loose" substance but there is also a green type... much more compact...That type is used as insulation, and my guess is that the pink thing is used as the same.

I made my board from what is called blue board...... It's a type of foam that they use in construction.... it is very compact which means it doesn't break easily and you can still cut it good with a foam cutter. It comes in thicknesses of 1", 1.5", 2", 2.5" and 3". and comes in lengths of 2' by 8'. for a 2' by 8' sheet it cost around 6-8 bucks........
