Welcome to Librarium Online!
Due to my Chapters Geneseed, and what not, I've bought me some of those Wulfen.
Now. Me, not being a big fan of the Wulfen models have decided to only use the arms of the Wulfen models. (And maybe some of the bodies for later conversions.)
But, as I say, Im not a fan of the Wulfen models. Wulfen to me spells Werewolves, and since Im a big fan of those...well, you can get the idea for my next project.
The Arms, will of course be the Wulfen arms, just hacked off. Except that one with the daemon head, as the Domini Vulpes don't normally fight Chaos due to their location. Though if I can file it down, I'll make it into an Ork or Tau head.
The heads, at the minute, will be those of the plenty of 1st Ed Leman Russ wolves.
The bodies, I will most likely keep in power armour, or at least some of them anyway.
The legs however, are the biggest problem at the minute, and will need to sculpted.
NOTE: For the record, I had thought about using the Confrontation Wulfen, but those are just way too big, and whilst I want the Vulpen to be slightly bigger than the normal Space Marines mini, I don't want them to be Dreadnought or DP size.
But yes, the problem lies in what alot of bidding artists come across. Proportion.
Now I have lots of Werewolf type pictures about, but, its the view of other people I need as well.
A: I'm not too sure if this is longer than it should be, but, only GS'ing will tell, unless someones sharp eye can tell me otherwise.
A: Better view of the above.
B: Again, Im not too sure if this part of the foot may be a tad too long.
Thanks for any feedback.

from the first view it looks fine, but that doesn't tell the whole story, going from the side on, the leg should probably be a couple of mm shorter, the feet of dogs and wolves are long, but the lower legs are surprisingly short
I might suggest the feet be a little short as well, just to keep the proportions right, the toes should be about level with the knees in that stance. It will make it a little shorter, but you don't want it too tall anyway
*Looks at his dogs hind legs*
Damn my dog won't stand still =>.<=
Did you mean the whole leg in general? Or just Part A?
As for the foot, when I said foot, I meant the whole lower half, Part B I think it was.
Looking at the mini as it is now, the paw does seem to be level with the knees, but this doesn't include the claws. But it can be trimmed to size if needs be.
Ta dude =^.^=

you had a dog there to work from and you needed someone to remind you?
but yes Part A needs to a be a little shorter, and so does Part B, to bring it back into proportion
This conversion looks like it's gonna be pretty cool, but theres also another option. I've seen on ebay a few times these metal blisters with werewolf like models. Looked pretty cool, especially if you wanted a werewolf look. Just another option.

MPD: Yea, but it only hit me after you posted lol, and he still wouldn't stand still the little sod lol.
Toastee: "No Dace I'm not playing. No, don't bring me the ball, no I just wanna see your leg.....OMFG STOP MOVING YOU YELLOW GIT!"
Dace: "WOOF" (Yay play time!)
But aye, ta dude, I'll see what I can do tonight after work =^.^=
Senigar: If there the Confrontation Wulfen, then I think they are too big.
Not that it wouldn't be impressive to have towering Vulpen charging at you. But all the Wulfen models are very detailed for one.
Another if they are as big as I think they've be, they would dwarf my SM, and make things look wrong and out of place.
Ta anyway though
But on a side note, if there not the Confrontation minis, I'd be thankful if you could get me a link
HERE's a pic of a dog that's guaranteed to stay still :p The way the skeleton is shaped could help you with your armature.
Making werewolf-like wulfen sounds like a pretty good idea, if you've read the Space Wolves novels (if not, why not?) there are some wulfen described and they don't sound very human-like...
Tubal: Dude, thanks =^.^= Another thing I should have thought about.
Aye, I've read the SW novels, and as well as liking Werewolves anyway, I just wouldn't be able to stand using Wulfen models as they are now....they just make my cry lol
Anywho, I've Bookmarked the page, and will get right on it =^___^=
I'm not sure if they are the confrontation models Toastee, but I'll try and find the model I saw and I'll link it if I do.

T take a look at the Ushabti from the tomb kings, im of the same opinion as you know about the wolfen, id think that with acording to the stories that a werewolf created from a normal person can be up to 10 foot tall a wolfen created from a Space Marine would be absolutley massive so take a look at these then immagine them covered with bits of Sm armour
and the Set models do have a more fox-like head that is already in proportion to the rest of the body
