I'm building a goblin army, night goblins to be specific.
I'm making night goblin crewmen for all the warmachines and now I want some chariots.
Rules wise they will count as wolfchariots, but I will be using the boar chariots chasis (because its plastic and I hate using powertools).
That is all well and good, but now I need some animals to pull the thing, wolfes are out, as they arent very night goblinish, boars are out because, well... its not a boar chariot.
At first squigs spring to mind, but they bounce... I can imagine a chariot moving this way, but only for very short periods of time, since it'll crash.
So, here's my plee, do any of you have any ideas/experience with this?
(I'd prefer touse plastic models, I can do a bit with greenstuff, but I'm not going to build the animals from scratch).
Squigs. The chariot bounces eraticaly as it moves.
Giant spiders....suitably night gobliny as they live in caves...would be scary as hell too!

The giant spiders sounds like a sick idea. I've seen giant spiders in Warmaster but they won't be of to much use.
The Sacea will hunt down all of their enemies.
Spiders... Maybe I should check out the old spiderriders then, or possibly shelob from the LOTR game.
Can you still buy the old giant spider model anywhere? (not the spider rider one, the one from the monster list).
If I had far more money, I would make a chariot like you. But I don't, so I won't - at least not yet. You have to buy the individual parts, and you have to get it through the UK online store, or possibly mail order, but it's still possible to get the old model parts for Spiders and Spider Riders:
Spider Rider Spiders:
Maybe one day when I'm in the UK I'll make a point of picking up some of these, they look damn good (and make me wish that GW hadn't made the silly decision to remove Forest Goblins, my favourite type of Goblin)
I have seen some insane night goblin chariots - some were simply chariot sized beasts with 3 night goblins behind them (herders from the squig herder blisters) goading it into battle. I've seen a giant scorpion and a giant spider. I thnk even an overgrown squig or a cave beast (ogre kingdoms rhinox) would be impressive and serve you well. Also adds a lot of character to the army.
Good luck with the conversion.
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.

Jahannan: thanks man, you're a lifesaver.
I think I'll get that giant spider model for the chariot... that got me thinking of the Shelob model, but I read somewhere that GW do not like people using lotr models for warhammer, and vice versa.
don't use shelob.
LOTR models are different scale slightly and dont match.
spiders or squigs are good. i thought about making a NG charriot once but didn't have time.
i was going to have it pulled by 2 or 4 squigs and have skis from dwarf gyrocopters for wheels.
