Welcome to Librarium Online!
Sorry about the bad images, and crappy paint job on the gold sniper, it was just a quick fix to hide the putty and stuff.
I had all my tau pictures on the site before it was redone, and these were my two snipers i modded from fire warriors and extra parts.
And this one is a prone sniper:
And here's the SM w/shotgun:
I have some more mods such as fire warrior with the minigun from the crisis suit, looks pretty sick, was a tau favorite on the old site. And i also have a fire warrior with duals (workin on a SM now with duals too) that was pretty easy to make but looks nice.
And finally here's my predator i modded too. I dont play warhammer, i just paint em and model them and put them on scenery boards and stuff, so im not worrier about how legal my mods are.
And the link to all of my marines:
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK AND POST SOME OTHER MODS OF YOURS
besides the scary paint scheme you've painted your marines in, some of the stuff looks really cool. The prone tau sniper and predator looks awesome, the thing with a dreadnought missile launcher on the turret is simple but looks stunning, and well those miniguns looks like they mean business :p.
The shotgun also looks good though I would remove those red things (hair sprey??) they look odd and misplaced.
Wow. I like 'em. I'm working on some sniper Fire Warriors of my own for a Tau Marine army. How did you do the bipods?
That Predator is Fething Awesome.
There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
ok ill do my best to answer these questions.
1st, the red things were supposed to be temporary shotgun shells until i got some scaled down shells from another model kit, but i ended up getting a model M60-A1 tank instead of that model: long story.
The Bipods were made of those scanner things that come with the fire warriors, they get held in their hand and look like a circle or something with two pokey things comin out. You probably know what im talkin about. But i had to cut them very carfully and i used all the things from the box just to get that one right (i broke the rest). My best guess is to just chop most of the cirlce but NOT ALL of it off the top so you have a solid bipod, place it under the front of the rifle, and then very CAREFULLY shave off any excess.
Otherwise for making tau snipers in prone, the head is the hardest to put on. The legs need some cutting and if you know the proper way of sitting in prone it's pretty easy to get the stance right (im Varsity Rifle Team Captain at my high school, so i know the position, if you can't find pictures of people doin it ill add another post on how to make the legs and stuff). I had to use some cement and putty to place the head and shaved it later. As long as you paint the putty the same color as your sniper, your eye wont see a massive tumor coming out of his throat lol. Just make sure a shoulder plate or the rest of his body cover the putty or it looks really bad. Takes some experimenting, but in the end it looks great. I like my standing snipers though using all the spare parts. The rifle i made from random parts on the back of one of the sniper team pic where they are standing is the best, but i wasnt able to use it as the main rifle because i added it late. If you want to know how to make it i can take a closer picture if you need so you can figure out which spare part to use for what. Takes about four pieces to make, but looks really high tech and detailed for something so simple.
Thanks for the great feedback. PEace.
Thanks for the tips. Looks like only the Sergeant will get a bipod, though.
Nice stuff but the best has to be the Predator.Thats a mad vechile conversion.Good Job!
