I recently got the Elysian weapons pack from forgeworld.
The detail is incredible, But its a little too good for the rest of my guard army with their simple lasguns.
The forgeworld lasguns have the sights and the barrels 'Drilled out' (I say drilled out even though they were made by the mould) and in order to make them fit in with the rest of my lasguns i had to decide whether i should fill in the holes or try to find a drill bit small enough for the rest of my lasguns.
Rather than fill in the holes i decided that i would drill them on all my other lasguns.
But does anyone know where i can get a drill bit that size though? GW's smallest drill bit is still way to large...
It depends how large you need, most model shops should carry drill bits of the size you need, I have a 0.5mm, a 1mm, and a 1.5mm in my pin vice set.
You can find drill bits that you can barely even see.
I bought a couple like that once and I broke the first on trying to get it out of the package. Luckily I bought two of those bits.
Anyhow, I highly highly suggest buying a hole punch to indent the plastic a bit exactly where you want the hole to be because a drill bit tends to drift when you first start drilling.
Btw, if you ever buy anything that's made of metal, then pin it. I've had things break off that I thought were going to be glued on for life, but when I pin them I can drop them from 5 feet up and they don't come apart.
