When starting my new army of Eldar i thought up different color schemes. I settled with yellow, white, bronze and black. I painted most of my army, and whhen i entered a campaign, my friends asked me what craftworld they were from and i didnt have an answer. So i was wondering, does any one just paint colors that they think would be cool, without a story, backround, or craftworld?
I'm sure many people do, and there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't.Originally Posted by Luckyz980
Whilst background etc. can undoubtedly add character to a non codex army it is not a requirement of the game.
You do not have to justify your colour scheme to anyone, just as you do not need to offer a Craftworld name or any other background info.
So long as the army is legal there is no other issue you need to comply with.
If anyone asks, just say "I've not decided yet, I'm still thinking about it".
Terminator Based Custom Chapter
It's not hard to come up with a name and a rough story though and it adds so much to an otherwise bland army
