I've started work on modelling a carnifex so it stands up tall rather than being all hunched over. So far I have done both the legs and got tem in place, next I need to green stuff the torso in place and hack at it trying to make it sit straighter on the legs. I think I'm going to have to cut away a lot of the spines at the top of the tail section to make the body sit straighter. And I'm definitely not looking forward to making the head point back in the right direction rather than sticking up, I'm not very good at GS work yet... So if anyone knows of any good articles. Anyway, here he is so far. I'll keep it up to date as I get more done.
Second pic (damn image limits!)
And here is a size comparison. As you can see, when his body is in place this guy is going to be really f*cking tall!
Looks good so far. You'll want to weight down the base a helluva lot, so it doesn't tip. Good luck!
Burn the land and boil the sea. You can't take the sky from me.
Member of the Canadian Clan, eh.
Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
Good luck. Very nice idea. Please post the finishing result!!
That Carni looks fantastic... any idea what weapons and 'morphs you're going to give it or will it be magnetic too?
Thanks for the comments so far.
I was going to give it a pair of twin linked devourers and enhanced sensors, he just slips under the limit with that to be an elite choice if I want him to. I'll probably end up hacking the elbows of the gun arms and remodelling them as well for better position.
Nice work, but maybe you should do some damage to the missile launcher? I doesn't really make sence that it just lays there, undamaged... maybe the dread who dropped it just plucked it off, not got it shot off or anything, no no...

The body is harder than I thought it would be, I've completely cut off that round bit on top of the legs as well as the upper spine on the tail section and a bit around it, but it seems there is going to be a large hole if I want the thing straight rather than hunched. No more pics yet, tomorrow afternoon I'm going to try to use GS to attach the bits together but it is going to be hard to get it right... Then I have to work on the neck, it is going to require alot of GS to make the head looking down/forward rather than straight up. I've cut the lumps off the front of the torso where the head usually connects, that has given a bit more space, a lot of GS will still be required though...
Great idea! That really is a great idea and will look fantastic when its completed.I also agree with Victor about the Missile Launcher, you should damage it in some way to make it look more dramatic and realistic.
Detail needs to be added to the Missile Launcher, I agree, but it really does give the effect your Carnifex has disposed of a Whirlwind one way or another. :shifty:
Good luck with finishing it!
