I've started to play with a SM army, the Soul Drinkers from their novels. I wanted to build Sarpedon their cheif librarian and acting commander. Now for those of you who havn't read the books, Sarpedon is a mutated librarian who has 8 legs now, 6 grown, 2of his old space marine legs, he also uses a force staff. I was hope for some advice on how to start building him.
get a librarian and give him 6 gaurdsmen legs or space marine legs
Is there a pic of him somewhere? It would help very much.
it's amazing how things work out sometimes, I started reading Soul Drinker again last night, and decided to kwik-convert a CSM based on Sarpedon's mutations
there is no way I could have fitted all 8 legs onto a CSM body, so it's just 4 gaunt scything talons as legs, now I just have to paint him up all purple and gold......
it stands maybe 1-2mm taller than a standard marine on a base, which is enough to be noticable, but not enough to be obvious
Mysterious Member of the ANZAC Clan
Well, I saw one dudes Sarepedon(sp) that was a librarian torso converted onto the front the GW's Shealob model(giant spider from LoTR). I'll post a link tomorrow...
EDIT: w00t! Found pix! http://www.electricocean.com/gtpics/...n_combined.jpg

Whoa that looks scary!Thats a pretty cool conversion.
As for your conversion mpdscott he looks pretty cool although i think he would look better if he had some legs going out to the side aswell.
