Alright, here goes.
I'm going to be making a Bike army, but I don't wan to use thos calvary bases, the slots are annoying for basing and stuff, plus there tiny for the bikes.
I'll be doing some custom poses (Li9ke wheelies and bikes turning) and some senery work (Tire Tracks ect ect) to the base.
So, what would be the best base for this???
I want something I can work with without it being too large and unwieldy.
50mm rounds, maybe?

You should buy some sheet styrene from a hobby shop and you can custom make your bike stands.
What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

If you're okay with spending some money, you could get some dreadnought bases from GW and FW. Just keep in mind, legally, a model must be on its corresponding base size. (for cc purposes)
1500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the Universe
500 years ago everybody knew the world was flat
5 minutes ago you knew humans were alone on the planet
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow
I will look into the plasticard I heard they sell around here in Kelowna, but I heard its reall expensive....
I find thos Dread bases to be a bit too much you know? Like too much empty space on the sides...
I thought a model was okay as long as you didn't use a smaller base......I have to check with my Rogue Trader and see what they say....
Kep 'em Coming!!!!
Im pretty sure it is OK to use any base as long as it is not smaller than its original base.
My hate is contagious...
When and if you do decide to make your own bases could you maybe please PM and show me some pics of them when they are finished?Im interested because im starting a RW army and might do something similar. On the topic. The 50mm bases IMO are too big, although you could get one and cut it down and make a oval shape.Just an idea, might work might not.
Yes, it's OK to use bigger bases, as long as they're not huge. My Broadside suits sit on 50mm bases for scenery reasons.
I've seen some nice bikes on cut down 50mm bases. And, for Attack Bikes, you can just use the full base.
Or, you can just use Green Stuff to fill the cracks in Cavalry bases.

Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
So um...yeah. I'm not using calvary bases, the bike is practially longer and wider then the base, so trying to do something senic is kinda hard if not impossible.Originally Posted by MiketehFox
Plus I think the card would warp when the glue dried, even if its already glued to the base I think.
