Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently decided to use up some extra bits, slightly broken peices, and a old fake turtle shell to make a creature, what do you guys think?
You can see it at this site,
what type of detail do you suggest?
if you mean a howdah i tried but the back curved at too big of a slope, so it stuck off on the sides. The other Lizardmen howdah is on a stegadon, and I tried it. It kind of looks silly.
Make your own unsing sprues and stuff, it may take some work but if your turtle has anything to say about it it should come out awsome!
Also look into ways you would actually strap a howdah onto a turtle, its not as simple as one strap around the waist!
Keep trying! You'll get it right.
That mad!That look awesome.
I think it's awesome! Very creative. I agree with Miketehfox in that it could use some more detail though. That shell is begging to have a huge howdah strapped to it. Mike's suggestion of using sprues is a good one. If you cut them up some to resemble rough-hewn timber they'd work well. Just build up walls that conform to the shell's curvature on the bottom but form an even line on top, then use more to create a flat floor inside. Green stuff straps holding it on would complete it. If you want to use larger pieces of material for the wood (so that you'll have to cut fewer ), try strips of balsa wood, again cut to resemble boards. If you did this, and filled it with skinks, it would look amazing. I assume you're going to use the stegadon rules for it, yeah? In that case, I think it needs a howdah to be usable in play (unless your opponent is very forgiving).
one of the funniest conversions I have seen, good work!
I agree with the howdah. You coould make a howdah that only cowered the front half of the shell so you get less work on it
You might want to repaint it to add more detail.
