Hi guys me again,it seems i go through big spaces in time where i stop with warhammer all together but this time i have realy good reason...Im now a daddy so me and my GF had to get all that sorted out and move into our new house. Anyway back to topic. As i have always said 'If i ever have a son im getin him into 2 things, warhammer and heavy metal' so now him being 1 week old i want to make him something for when he starts warhmmer, i already have a dioram finnished that is for you ppl that6 know devid gemmell of druss the legend ,druss is in hell fighting bardan across the rope bridge, i used valtan as druss in this and grimgore's axe as snaga and same goes for bardan sept he is represented with an old human barabrian model,i had a link there but its not wokrin 'not compatable with your software' :/. Anyway i am now going to start work on a black templar army for him when he is aged to play and makin him a special character for them, this is what i was thinking.
With this model i wasnt going to do anything fancy, well mabey alittle. I am going to represent him wiht a noraml space marine model but had some plastic card on the bottom of his feet to give him extra hight, a small cross made from green stuff round his neck. With his weapons i wanted to go for something..traditional, i can remember readin that the templers are warrior monks and when i think of monks for some reason i think of none weapon fighting, so i aim to Umff up his guanlets with green stuff, giving them spicked studs and some wire running from them (these will be represented as force weapons) i am planing in doing the same with his feet so he packs a powerfull kick aswell as a punch. I am planing in using a space marine sergeant head (u know the bald one) and cuting down through his eye to give a scar effect and placing a templar corss decall on his cheek. I am still contimplating withere i should gove him a cloak or not.
I have his rules set up and a name but dont thin that belongs here so look out for it on another thread.
I'd love to see the link to the Druss diorama, I'm a big Gemmell fan
although I think I'd like to see Druss on the walls of the Dros more

Hope it turns out well...
On a side note: 18? Kids? Am I the onley one that finds this freaky?
It's young but not massively so.
Good luck on the army
Sorrow, welcome to parent hood and congratulations.

I think its really nice that you want to make something for your new born son. Well done.
However, please don't be one of these dad who force their own life on their sons. I was lucky my Dad never did, and I grew up to be my own person, and I got to make all my own life choices. And I know my Dad is proud of me.
its a long way off anyhow, for the moment I guess you'll be up most of the night and changing nappies.
Congratualtions on fatherhood.
Force morals and ethics on your children, NOT Warhammer. Warhammer teaches bad bad things like irresponsible spending of your hard earned money, and ignoring family members for hours on end because you just HAVE to get that last squad of SM's painted for next weeks tourney....
Don't take what I just said too serious. I hope my two kids will want to get into the hobby too, but if they don't, ehhh, who cares.
But, hey, MAKING something for your kids rather than just buying some prefab card and toy from Wal-Mart will really mean something to them. I never have and never will part with the things that my Mom and Dad made for me, even if they are things that I'm not "in" to.
lol thanx for all the well wishes but im not going to force him into liking anything,i will let him like what he likes and do what he does not what i want him to.
SO back to topic about the army and special character now ? hehe
Wait, let me get this straight...
You dont want to force him into playing warhammer, but he is 1 week old and you are about to start making an army for him?
Surely he will feel slightly pressured into playing if his dad just spent the last, like, eight years making an army for him?
Cant you wait, like, at least six years before you start doing this?
..and maybe show him some minis, see what he thinks about them.
OASN- You know what I find funney? You guys are hoping your kids will get into 40k, im hoping my dad gets into 40k. Shows a huge age differnce in these forums, doesnt it?
