Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys. MY space marines currently posted didnt come out so hot because 1) i used glossy paints, and 2) i didnt give too much thought to the color scheme.
I just order some space marine veterans, the new 5 terminator set, and command squad. I thought id make these the best so i need some advice.
I want to use a shade of blue for the armor, and possibly some other dark colors and shades of blue. Some pictures, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated. I use Tamiya paints, so i wont understand the GW paint color names lol.
Thanks in advance.
Well you'll find most on here use GW paint, so names will be hard to figure out. But is there not a GW>Tamiya colour chart converter? I know there is one for GW > Vejello(sp)
Anyways, for my SM chapter I've used dark blue. The darkest is an almost black colour, it's blue but very deep shade then a slightly lighter one was used in mixes to get the shade I decided.
I dunno how much this helps, but meh. Any reason to show my pics eh?
Any thought about doing an established chapter? The Crimson Fists have a dark blue color scheme, and I have always dug their look. Just a thought. Plus, there is already some good fluff on them and you can use a lot of the Imperial Fist iconography.
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
 I see what you mean Flame, and i'm lovin your model. I was brainstorming last night, and i can't seem to get bobahat's space marines out of my head, I love em. They're really close to what I want and i'm trying to build off his because i dont want to make the same exact thing. Sofar i'm thinking of having blue shoulder plates that start out dark blue on the edges and gradually get lighter. SOmething to the effect of http://www.librarium-online.com/gall...hp?i=1075&c=29 but a little better, and no so drastic of a change. Just a smooth transition for the shades. I like bobahats grey on the edges, so i might try that or another color. Otherwise the rest of the body will be whatever color blue spraypaint i can find. I just gotta find some flat blue or some varnish killer.
Oh and the heads i think will be white and the helmets too. THat's as far as i got. As far as adding to parts of his body with paint like you did flame, im lost. I've experimented on my other already dont sm but none came out right.
That's the SM of bobahats that i love so much. I love verything about it, but im afraid to copy it arg. I guess worst comes to worst i'll do something similar with the shoulder plates and arms, but i might use a kool camo idea on the body that will make it look drasticaly different.
Thanks. any more suggestions would be great.
Ha, Cheredanine, you didn't need to show that pic, it's already in your avatar!
Anyway, I play Ultramarines, and I think they're color scheme is great. A sorta-dark blue with gold shoulder pad trimming. You could modify the scheme a bit to make your own chapter if you so desire as well.
