I've seen this on a few forums and tbh it's a good idea, here's the blurb I've stolen from umm.. nowhere :ph34r:Please help each other out and compliment each others work as we all strive to finish painting our armies while dealing with our addiction to this wonderful hobby.
This is a place where you can post about your painting projects, models, terrain, plans *for world domination* (ahem...sorry that slipped out), etc.
40K, Fantasy and any other game that requires you to put paint to brush (or dipping if that is your thing) are all welcome. Positive reinforcement and praise is always better and lets face it we all are proud of our painting skills, whether a beginner or a former Golden Daemon winner. If you are making a comment for improvement, please remember to be civil with your critiques or criticism (and always suggest a solution if you do).
Many posters like to post their lists of models; this is a perfectly natural step in admitting your addiction. The real goal of this group is to help you reduce that list and shrink the armies of silver, black and white with ranks of painted soldiers, fantastic terrain, and whatever else makes people oh and ah.
So lets get to it!! :p
um...hello, my name is James and i'm a paintaholic ( i dont drink it or anything though..)
great idea, i think people should be encouraged to post more pics in the gallery too- especially people who paint WHFB minis, we are a bit thin on the ground! its great to look at what other people have done and pick up pointers

I have plenty of pics to put about, but I think most have seen them. ^_^
Lets hope people use this thread, I've seen it be very useful for members.
I quote from the introductory message on this subject: "Positive reinforcement and praise is always better and lets face it we all are proud of our painting skills, whether a beginner or a former Golden Daemon winner. If you are making a comment for improvement, please remember to be civil with your critiques or criticism (and always suggest a solution if you do)."
So often I have seen in other websites comments on painted minis which are downright embarassing in the way in which bad work has been praised because we should all be kind to the poor artist. So when artwork is to be appraised let's do it properly. A balanced opinion of what is good and what could be improved is going to help the artist. Praise because we must respect others' feelings will not of itself make better mini painters of us all. Better to resist comment than praise falsely. If you don't want an honest opinion, don't invite criticism.
