I was thinking of creating a palace for a city fight game my friends and I are planning. My question is what would it look like? From what i've read of the fluff goveners palaces seem to be virtually fortresses as well as administrative centers.
I was leaning towards a Romanesque building with pill boxs and and barricades added. What are your guy's ideas? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
a late gothic era would look gud with high celings and stuff but the pill boxes would be a good idea but from the stories iv read in books the govoners seem to like big flowery rooms and corridoors and dont like to be around pill boxes and window slits so a big flower palace with high celings surrounded be service corridor style thingy bobs so you can corridor fight and open area fight in the same sort of area but it would be a wopper of a building
some of the scenery that i have made are appartment blocks and things like that but they are easier to make and move around in if they are run down and blown up abit but not to much just enough to get to the models
dats the sort of thing i was tryin to say. bit gothicy but that would take while to build
Thanks for all the great ideas. The Link was very helpful.
Ok people, I just wanna give my tips here too...
The ideas all of you come with are spectacular, so I won't comment any of those...
Only ideas I can come with are tips on what to base your ideas on.
Absolutely go on the gothic theme, as a general always base imperial buildings on the gothic theme.
But as a more direct tip try to look at buildings of the late Victorian era, basically have a look at more historical buildings in old cities as London, Paris etc.
But also, if you get your hands on some of the GW\Black library art books, they generally give the ideas that GW make use of. Not to suggest that GW is best in everything, but they generally give very good ideas and suggestions.
Cheers from the Royal Guardsman who is currently at home...for 2 days...
Wow. George Dellaphina finally paints something in tasteful colors.Originally Posted by Pierced53

Try and make it simple. Gothic arcitects were masters of their art.
Hope my links help.

My blast template of S10 AP2 will toast all terminators.
Now a surgeon cuts off rotten limbs; and mangy sheep are isolated from the healthy; but a prudent Judge will not consider it safe to bind himself down to one invariable rule in his method of dealing with a prisoner who is endowed with a witch's power of taciturnity, and whose silence he is unable to overcome. For if the sons of darkness were to become accustomed to one general rule they would provide means of evading it as a well-known snare set for their destruction. - Malleus Maleficarum , part III.
